Out of school hours, a well qualified Head of Child Care and a team of 16 Care Staff provide a full programme, including a variety of recreational activities, for pupils in the Junior School and the Main School. The aims are to provide opportunities for success in social skills, to inculcate the habit of using time constructively, to introduce young people to activities whereby they might relate to others, and generally to promote self-esteem. Individual Care Plans are designed and regularly adjusted for each pupil.
Each living area apart from the EEU, is all age this enables a more naturalistic environment and allows for mentoring and peer advocacy.
