Staff Training
Given the nature of the pupils at the school, the in service training and development of staff are vitally important. To support this, the school runs on a three-weekly cycle, Children return home on a Thursday and staff use the Friday for training.
Further training through nationally accredited courses, leading to nationally recognised qualifications is actively supported by the school and the majority of staff are currently developed in this way.
Professional Development undertaken by Teaching and Care Staff
All professional staff have received training in:
- National Curriculum areas
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders
- Dealing with Difficult Behaviour
- School Programmes and Routines
All staff have regular line management meetings and all receive annual staff reviews.
Staff are currently following courses in:
- Masters Degrees in their chosen specialist area
- Open University Degree in Childcare
- Masters Degree in SEN
- First Aid
- Health & Safety
- PRICE (Protecting Rights in a Care Environment)
